Introduction

My name is Elise Rodd-Nielsen and I am an educator with a clinical background in Enterostomal Therapy Nursing. This portfolio is for all those who come to learn more about me, be you professors, potential employers or potential clients. The purpose of this portfolio is to introduce you to aspects of my professional views, philosophies, reflections and experiences that relate to my role as an educator. While it began as an assignment in partial fulfillment of the St. Francis Xavier Master of Adult Education, it has become part of my journey of transformation from a nurse, to an educator.

My philosophical position on adult education serves as my compass, and a map of my journey can be found in my reflections. Along the way you may discover which paths I have taken so far in my formal and informal education, the footprints I leave behind in my publications and contributions to my communities, and the guiding experiences I have enjoyed teaching others.
